At Heart to Heart Conversations, I believe that not only does everyone have the ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life they deserve to. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that mental and emotional well-being are integral to overall health, and that being authentically seen and heard can be a powerful tool for achieving this balance.
Hi there I’m Christina and my passion is helping people live happy and for-filled lives.
I was a teacher for 22 years working in Early Childhood settings, primary schools and university. The majority of my career was with Education Queensland where I was an Advisory Teacher in Behaviours; consulting to 8 schools in the Logan Beaudesert Region. My job was to help schools and children with managing challenging behaviours as well as professional development of teachers and training for parents and volunteers.
I was a sessional academic at USQ, teaching undergraduate teachers Managing Challenging Behaviours and Autism Spectrum Disorders. I loved giving back to the teaching profession.
I have lived experience with childhood/teenage trauma (DV) as well as living with PTSD and Neurodivergence and have spent the last 30 years studying trauma, ADHD and ASD to live a happier life and be a better professional. I especially enjoy supporting the newly diagnosed to help them navigate all that goes with that.
In 2023 I became a Raise Mentor so I could volunteer with young people in high schools as I love giving back to my community.
I have completed a year of my Masters in Counselling at QUT where I became very interested in Narrative and Solution Focused Therapy which I really love and continue to study. I’m currently studying my Diploma in Counselling through AIPC . I'm a life long learner and frequently participate in training workshops to stay updated with the latest developments in my field.
In 2021 I became a Qualified Justice of the Peace so I can further help my clients should they need those types of services.
I’m about to publish my first book about how I overcame adversity and trauma to live a great life doing things that I love. I am more than what happened to me and I believe you are too.
I love reading, dancing and a good cup of tea and playing with my puppy Jett.
I have lived, worked and taught in my local area since 2001 and live on two beautiful acres of land with my husband Ricky.
A problem shared is a problem halved and I’m ready to sit and listen to all you have to say. Together we can help you navigate through life's challenges and work through some strategies that are tailored to your specific needs. I’m Neurodivergent, Trauma Informed and LGBTIQA+ friendly and I’m here to support you.
Children are facing some of the most difficult times in modern history. We are just beginning to understand the impacts of the 2020 pandemic had on our young people and their families. School refusal, challenging behavior and electronic devices are having big impacts on children's learning outcomes and their engagement with their families, school and each other. Using children's natural tool of play I have conversations with children to help them understand what's happening around them. I focus on a child's need to feel safe and secure and work with their strengthens. I can help families develop positive strategies to create more harmonious homes and I can help families unpack and understand a new diagnosis.
As we learn more about Neurodivergence there's been a big increase of adults, particularly women, getting a diagnosis of ADHD, ASD or both. It's a lot to navigate. Having a late diagnosis myself I understand the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with learning more about why you are the way you are. Having the personality type we do, we then go down the rabbit hole of chasing all the information possible to understand what it all means. This information overload can lead to a lot of stress and overwhelm. I provide neuro-affirming conversations to help you navigate this time in your life. You can stand, walk, infodump and share your special interest judgement free. Let me help you make friends with your brain.
Conversations about grief can be really hard to have because often people don't know what to say and wind up saying things like they're in a better place or they're at peace now, that can feel dismissive. Grief can be very debilitating and takes time to process so I hold space for people who are grieving, sharing their memories of their loved one is a privilege. I was with my mum and grandparents when they passed so I understand the days after and how chaotic they can be. If you feel like you'd like to chat about your loved one fel free to get in touch.
I am a Reiki Master/Teacher and can provide reiki sessions in my studio in Cedar Vale if you feel called. Reiki is a wonderful tool for relaxation and healing and gives your body the sense of being very well rested. Reiki is a hands on healing modality with no religious affiliations. It's a wonderful complement to the conversations I offer as part of my wholistic approach to healing.
I understand that therapy can be hard and being in an office can be uncomfortable. With that in mind I often meet for conversations in parks and gardens, cafes or in your home. I also have a beautiful studio space and abundant gardens to walk in too. It’s the conversation that counts not where we have it.
For practical reasons Reiki is only offered in the studio.
